A little known Carolyn-fact, I’ve written a novel.
It sits on my hard drive ready for revisions. One day I’ll get back to it, and writing. In the meantime, I’m devouring books, working myself through a Goodreads Challenge.
During my writing days, I took a course offered by Amy Kathleen Ryan and learned a lot. I was so motivated, I went out and read all her books. After the course we stayed in touch, and I’d email her here and there. Lucky for me, we developed a friendship.
A couple weeks ago she invited me to her release party of her second book, Spark, in her Sky Chasers Trilogy.
I was thrilled. I’ve never been invited to a book release before. And more thrilled that other published authors would be there. Over cheese, fruit, and wine, we discussed books, writing, and dreaded revisions. Each person offering bits of advice and encouragement. I loved it. Loved it so much, that night, I pulled out a notepad and jotted down a rough idea (or 3) for my next project.
And now, I want to give you a chance to get to know Amy and her fabulous writing and her awesome series, Sky Chasers by giving away the first 2 books in her series Glow and Spark.
I know you’ll love this series as much as I do!
Enter away! And GOOD LUCK!
{I was not compensated for this review/post. I asked Amy at the party if she’d like to do a giveaway, and she said yes :) }

How cool is that?!?!?! I had won an early release copy of Glow last year and I loved every second of it. I can’t wait for Spark to come out! Why’d Amy change the cover?!?!
Thanks. I’m glad you enjoyed Glow, Spark is just as great!!
As for changing the cover, I think the publisher did that.
I’m so bummed I missed her launch party! I had writer’s group that night. I loved GLOW and I’m so looking forward to reading book two! How exciting!
I hope this also means you’re getting back into writing mode–you’re a talented writer!
Sorry you missed it too! It was fun, I loved chatting with some published authors, very motivating.
Thanks for your kind words – I really do hope to get back … soon.
That is so so cool that you have written a novel too, I really want to hear more about it!

Thanks Jody. If you need something to put you to sleep, I can send you the PDF :)
Seriously. And more seriously, it does need revisions. I think voice is my biggest problem.
I second the vote for you to get back into writing, Carolyn. Your first book is an excellent story and should be published.
As for Amy’s party, I hated to miss it but look forward to reading Spark. I’ve linked to this Hooked and Happy feature/giveaway in my Wednesday blog post.

Ah thanks Pat! I still think about that novel and how to make it better. Like I said to Jody above, I think I need to work on voice.
Amy’s second book is more than excellent, I think you’ll love it.
totally exciting! I just entered.
