It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
AND
It can be the most stressful time of the year.
We are running around, trying to get things done, trying to create a perfect holiday, that we can get lost.
And we can be abrupt, forgetful, selfish.
So, for my Pay It Forward act, I decided to do multiple little acts in hopes of spreading some good will.
Through out the course of this month, I decided to return abandoned carts,
pick up trash (One of MANY coffee cups strewn in the parking lots),
hold open doors for “busy” shoppers, and let those that “huffed and puffed” go in front of me at the check out line.
And one of those huffers and puffers? Yeah, she turned to thank me as “she was so busy and running around.” I bit my cheek so as not to respond, so is everyone else.
Instead I said, “No problem. I’m performing random acts of kindness in hopes others will too.”
Right away she responded, “Like a Pay it forward? I like it.”
Hopefully she liked it enough to Pay It Forward herself.
What did you end up doing this past month?
Grab the badge, link up your stories here, or with Literal Mom, or leave a story/comment on Facebook.
And if you can’t make it this month, link-up next month.
We’ll be Paying It Forward again January 7.

Ooops..I linked up, but I haven’t written anything yet! Better get that done today! i like this idea escpecially at such a time where everyone is running around and stuck in their own heads and their own whoas..
A nice reminder.
Hey Kelly, Looking forward to reading your post. I’ll delete your link, and then you can link up your blog post when you it written!
you are wonderful. haha, I love how you bit your tongue. thanks for doing what you’re doing. it’s really about all these small things. they add up in big ways :)
Ha, thanks Sarah. It took A LOT of self control not to say what I wanted. Actually knowing I was trying to Pay It Forward kept me in line.
I’ve volunteered my time a few times this month. It has made me feel great to give back :-)
