In the spirit of Laura Numeroff and her books – If You Give a Mouse/Cat/Moose/Pig “something”, I present -
If You Let A Three Year Old Dress Herself
If you let a three year old dress herself, chances are she’ll pull everything out of her drawers.
She’ll discover what she wants is in the laundry basket, so she’ll beg you to wash it.
On the way to the laundry room, she’ll pass some of her toys.
She’ll want you to play Barbies and Princesses and read her a book. Then she’ll think about doing a puzzle too.
Once she’s finished playing, she’ll need a snack.
She’ll ask for some cookies. And then smile because she knows you won’t give her any.
So she settles for some yogurt and milk.
While she eats her snack. She’ll spill most of it on her.
The mess will make her sad and she’ll want to change.
So you tell her to go upstairs find something to wear.
She’ll march to her room, open and all her drawers and pull out all the clothes you’ve put away.
And chances are, she’ll still want the outfit you’ve forgotten to launder.
